Il consulente scienziato - Consultant and scientist?

1.     Che cosa cambiare?
2.     Verso cosa cambiare?

Which is the job of a scientist?

What makes this category of  people so special?

They look for inner pattern, the meaning of things, the inherent simplicity that brings to the core problem.
I believe this is the job of a consultant too. And of every salesman who want to make a difference, want to establish his value.
It can be hard, but I came to the conclusion that the consultant should help the client to answers to these three simple and at the same time so difficult questions, that the Theory of Constraints brought to the attention of everyone:

1.     What to change?
2.     What to change to?
3.     How to cause the change?

And in doing so the consultant should always stay focused on the goal of the company: make more money now and in the future.
Now this seems a silly approach since everyone can easily try to find out the answers to these questions.
I believe this is wrong, since we are usually trapped in our own system, we are in some way blind and we cannot see the path underneath.
The strength of a consultant, and of a sales consultant, should be to break this cage and free the hidden causes and effects chain that could bring to the core problem.
And we should do this with sharp questions, that make that client think about and see her/his situation from a different angles.

Are you ready for this?
